Avatar is now the #1 grossing film of all time.
Avatar has reached $1,858,866,889 while Titanic earned $1,843,201,268 total.
movie go-ers are paying and average of $10 to see Avatar, and because the average ticket to see titanic in 1997 was about $5. that means that even though Avatar has made more money, twice as many people saw titanic. And when people like my brother saw titanic 6 times in the theater i'm not surprised.
