reasons for leaving: 1. my boss hates me. before it was silent hatred and now it's verbal. "why are you even here. what do you do." yes, he said that to me. WELL I'M THE REASON YOUR FUCKING SONS HAVE A RADIO INTERVIEW AT LOLLAPALOOZA. fuck him.
2. unfunny jokes. this job is layers and layers of unfunny, which results in fake laughter. pains my soul.
3. today, this guy goes "hey, find us a local band that could play a show with ET." so i'm like "how much are you gonna pay them" (so i can figure out which band would be best for that amount of money) and he said "who said i was going to pay them?" anyone who knows me knows i love local music. SO, this is bullshit. no wonder houston has so music scene, because people like him are in charge of this kinda shit.
ugh, i need some drinks. it just bums me out that i'm working for a machine of a band. their music is lacks soul and reason, except for money making reasons.
lemme know what you guys think. i need some moral support.
youre unhappy. thats all that matters. id say stay until lollapalooza cause that will be sweet, but you know better than me how painful that would be. call that guy in LA and start doing something you like.
of course i agree with brian. you need to line up another job. if you're unhappy, that's not good, so you have to do something to get yourself a better situation. but i think it's also important to remember that sometimes you have to stick it out, grin and bear it, etc. etc. kinda thing.
you also can try and learn from any situation, good or bad. what can you learn from this? maybe how to make nice with a douche bag boss?
you've def. learned that you cannot work at a job that doesn't have meaning or worth.
i have some options, but they're like working at whole foods. haha. i applied to go do some work in madagascar and south africa. pray to your gods that i get in. it's like a mini peace corp, kinda thing.
quit your job if you hate it but don't let yourself run out of money. that is my advice. so if you need to line up a job that you will like more than this one but which you will not love, then do it. i think it would be quite nice to work at whole foods. you wrote down at least 4 reasons to quit int he comments here, and none for staying. don't stay.
My brother's roommate works in the oilfield and just spent a month in Nigeria. The day he was supposed to leave, the airstrip got hijacked and he couldn't leave for awhile.

madagascar is pretty fucking tough, i would stay away from it. visit perhaps, but i would not stay, unless you like civil wars.
