new years
i want to come to nac for new years, but not unless you guys are planning on being there and getting together.
if you all want to carpool and drive 2 hours to Humble, we could have a party there in a big friendly house with lots of space, a fire pit, and beds/couches to crash on. just throwing that out there.
let me know when something transpires.
loveyou,
evil

WATCH OUT.
One of the lawyers I work for has a son in a fraternity. They were "dicking around" and this happened. Apparently the handle broke off and shot into this guys head. daaaaaang. Luckily it just went through skin so no worries. YIKES.
his words in the email forwarded to me to his father; "Remember I told you the story about the two Beta seniors fucking around with a knife, and blade flew out...look where it ended up. "
Journey O'Clock
Pretty sweet moment of my life right there.

hello youtubes!
move over daft punk cuz that ronald jenkees dude is sweet in every way
the story of the picture
so as i was about to go to bed i realized i hadn't seen george in a while. i feared that he might be outside (yes he is a domesticated creature now) but knew that he is a good hider so he might bre inside, and that he could handle it if he was outside, and i gave up looking for him.
i went to bed, and before i fell asleep, brian came and brought me to the laundry room. because he had found george. in the dryer. i had left my clothes in there, and the door open, so i guess he decided to make himself at home in there among the clean, yummy clothes. he was cleaning himself and as brian tried to take a picture he got up and started to come out, and thus the picture on the sidebar. <--------
the moral of this story is that george is the CUTEST THING ever.
thank you.

popabowa!
it's been awhile since i've posted in this so i figured now's the time.
one. i had a dream a couple of nights ago. i guess more of a nightmare than a dream. i've been having lots of crazy dreams lately. but this one tops the list. i was somewhere outside with a lot of strangers and i looked up and perched on a telephone wire was this monkey vampire looking thing. like it was the size of a human, had fur and a tail, and the face of a vampire. first there was just one of them and then a lot more came jumping out of i don't know where, i guess air, and they were all perched like birds. that was basically the dream. i made myself wake up.
two. ryan and i were at heb, standing in line and ryan picks up a tabloid and starts flipping through it. there was a story about my monkey vampires that i just dreamt about. insane. they're called popabowas. and the article had illustrations. EXACTLY what they looked like in my dreams. except these ones had wings. the ones in my dream could have had wings. they just weren't spanned out. seriously. popabowas. the article said they mainly stalk men's dreams. i think mine really tried to get to ryan but instead got me. but seriously, wtf?
three. is anyone else scared, because i am.
four. i've been wanting cowboy boots for awhile now. i was just going to pay way too much for some at some vintage shop, but the world loves me. we walked outside to go across the street to the gas station to buy some cigarettes and there were a pair of black cowboy boots by the dumpster. yes, i took them. yes, they're about one size too big. yes, i'm wearing them right now. with socks, of course. i don't know what kind of weird fungus the previous owner had. but anyways, life loves me and my new boots.
five. i finally started my new job at the restaurant, fiddler's hearth. it's kind of slow right now because it's a new restaurant. but it's cool. and i got to play with medicine balls today. the work out kind. they're heavy. but yeah. come to austin. come to the restaurant and tip me mad.
six. i miss everyone. tons.
seven. this is the first time in my life that i am not going home for thanksgiving. sad. i miss my family.

my favorite college professor is writing a book about pop culture and he wants to me read the first two chapters he's written. he's written more, but he just wants my opinion on the first two i guess. i'm pretty much the most excited i've ever been. this guy is the reason i want to be a teacher more or less.
and in 18 days i get to see my family for the first time in 9.5 months. be excited for me.
I MISS YOU GUYS.

Halloween in Athens
Around 4pm or so I was in the office in the English building, trying to do some work, and I decided to go get some coffee and see if it was starting to get weird outside. Turns out, they block off the main drag of town early in the day and have bands and such playing. This band was playing "Bulls on Parade" when I walked up. And the lead singer was wearing a Hulk Hogan outfit. Woot.
I eventually went downtown at like 7:30 or so, and it was staring to pick up. I was with my friend Ali and two of her friends - one was in from New York, one was in from L.A. I felt fancy, partying with rich socialites. There were some McCain/Palin supporters on this balcony, yelling down at the people walking by. I couldn't tell if it was a costume or not. Eventually I went to a party being thrown by one of the second-year grad students. There was a band playing in the carport under the house, a fire, pretty girls and lots of drinking. We headed back to the wild block party around midnight, and had probably gotten twice as packed compared to when I had been there earlier. Here are some pictures of some of the people I was traveling around with, one of whom was a Sarah Palin with a sash that said "Miss Alaska" and a shirt that said "Miss Guided, Miss Ogynist, Mistake" on it. And yes, my phone's camera sucks at night pictures. OH WELL.

sigh
the pair were axed because of NBC’s “frustration with the creative direction of the show.” Financial concerns might have also played a part in duo’s firing;the word is episodes were costing over their $4 million budget.

In Support of the Mustache
Movember
During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I'm growing a Moustache. That's right I'm bringing the Mo back because I'm passionate about tackling men's health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer.
To donate to my Mo you can either:
- Click this link https://www.movember.com/us/
donate/donate-details.php? and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, oraction=sponsorlink®o= 1827896&country=us - Write a check payable to the ‘Prostate Cancer Foundation', referencing my Registration Number 1827896 and mailing it to:
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
The money raised by Movember is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation which will use the funds for high-impact research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.
Did you know:
- Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year.
- African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer are twice as likely to develop the disease and should have regular annual testing starting at 45. All other men should commence testing at 50.
- Prostate cancer is 90% curable if detected and treated early.
For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:
[ Fundraising Outcomes ].
Movember culminates at the end of month Gala Partés. If you would like to be part of this great night you'll need to purchase a [ Gala Parté Ticket ].
Thanks for your support,
Andrew.
